about

an account of the night a strange discovery was made and the residents of the town took on a disturbing new appearance.

lyrics

They’re working late again tonight.

Verse one

They’re working late again, tonight
Underneath bright lights and a blackened sky
And in these sleepless hours
Strange images plague my thoughts.

Dust pushed from the bones of an ancient being
An unfamiliar form not known ‘til now
Or the destruction of a brave new world
By the hands of time.

Then one night it came to an end
The lights shining
And the site was still and strange
But for all the earthly quiet
Something still remained.

It crawled among the sleeping bodies
Filled their lungs and rose into the air
Like smoke
And a change came over the town
As everyone one awoke.

Pre-chorus, repeated twice.

(They sang a song as they walked along,
Hand in hand by the edge of town.)

Oh. They. Said.

Chorus repeated twice

Who do you think has been keeping you sick?
They sell the medicine, oh, they sell the medicine.

Verse two

The town is empty and the streets are wild
The houses crumble,
sunlight bleeds through the soil
And the shop signs all swing on a rusted hinge.

No smoke rise from the chimney stacks
No flames burn and turn the sky black
No oils is drawn up from the ground
And the drills stand in silence

Pre-chorus

Chorus
